Apart from learning, there is an important social aspect. The warmth and hospitality and general sense of sharing and celebrating Gaelic culture is wonderful.

Fèis Rois Inbhich - The Adult Fèis

Step-dancing at the Adult FèisBeginners are very welcome at all of our events, and those who already play an instrument or sing will also find the experience very rewarding. We aim to cater for all abilities, right up to accomplished musicians and singers. You don’t need to be able to read music and you don’t need to have any previous knowledge of traditional music to enjoy a Fèis. Workshops are taught by ear with participants learning tunes and songs a phrase at a time. Tutors will give you the sheet music to take home.

Fèis Rois events are fun and friendly. We want to help you improve your playing, grow in confidence and learn more about the Gaelic language and culture.

Piping at the Adult FèisDescribed by many previous participants as “the best weekend of the year”, the Adult Fèis is an annual 3-day festival offering first-class tuition in traditional music, song, dance, Gaelic language and culture in the beautiful setting of Ullapool.

Daily classes take place from 10am to 4pm on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday and are led by an amazing team of internationally renowned musicians. Classes are grouped into ability levels and we offer a 1st choice class all morning and a 2nd choice class all afternoon.
